Knights of Columbus - St. Rose Roundtable

koc logoA Special Thank You from the Knights of Columbus

In 2016, the Father John E. Doyle Council of the Knights of Columbus undertook an effort to raise the funds needed to purchase a new cargo van for the Little Sisters of the Poor. The Sisters depend upon a reliable cargo van to collect donations of food, clothing, furniture and other items – items that are essential to the operation of Holy Family Home and the care of the home’s nearly 100 residents. The cost of a new van is in excess of $40,000.00. Through the generous response of members of the Doyle council, the parishes the Doyle council serves (St. Rose and Corpus Christi), and area Knights of Columbus councils, over $45,000.00 was raised. More than $8,000.00 was raised for this effort during a collection here at St. Rose of Lima in August, 2016. On October 6, 2017, members of the Doyle Council presented the Little Sisters of the Poor with their brand new cargo van! The Little Sisters of the Poor and the residents at Holy Family Home remember all of their benefactors – including those here at St. Rose – in their daily prayers. Thank you for your generosity.

The Knights of Columbus is one of the few church-related organizations that have members throughout North America. Named in honor of Christopher Columbus, the Catholic evangelist who brought the Faith to America, the Knights support the Church in both its doctrine and its charitable causes. The family is the heart of the order, which helps at many parish functions and promotes the culture of life.

St. Rose of Lima Parish and Corpus Christi Parish jointly sponsor the Fr. John E. Doyle Council. The Knights generously gift newly registered Parish families with a free pancake breakfast and present a rose and rosary to the newly baptized at St. Rose Church. Membership is open to all practicing Catholic gentlemen of at least 18 years of age. The St. Rose Roundtable meets monthly in the Parish Center.
